About St. Louis, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Situated in Missouri, St. Louis is the second largest city of the state with an estimated population of more than 315,700 residents. An independent city, St. Louis is not part of any county. It’s the economic and cultural hub of the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area, which is the largest metropolitan area in the state of Missouri.

The French founded St. Louis in 1764 when Auguste Choteau and Pierre Laclede Liguest established a fur-trading post at the present site and named in the honor of King Louis IX of France. The area, however, fell under Spanish possession after France was defeated in the Seven Years’ War. In 1800, St. Louis was ceded back to France and three years later the territory was acquired by the United States as a part of the Louisiana Purchase.

Incorporated in 1809, St. Louis remained the capital of the Missouri Territory from 1812 to 1821. The following year, it was incorporated as a city and developed as a major port on the river of Mississippi. By 1877, it became an independent city and was separated from St. Louis County, having its own political boundaries.

As of today, St. Louis is the largest metropolitan center of the state of Missouri. Its economy relies on tourism, service, transportation of goods, manufacturing as well as trade. St. Louis is home to several major corporations, including Boeing Defense, Express Scripts, Go Jet, Ralcorp, Panera, Monsanto, among various others. Furthermore, the city is also recognized for its growing research, medical and pharmaceutical presence.

Known for its 630-foot tall Gateway Arch, St. Louis is home to many Fortune 500 companies and is the centre of biotechnology and medicine with several institutions residing in the city. Saint Louis University and Washington University are two national research universities located in St. Louis. Washington University School of Medicine, one of the top medical schools in the United States, also serves the students of the city. Moreover, St. Louis Public Schools operates over 75 schools, enrolling more than 75,000 students.

St Louis receives 43 inches of rainfall and 15 inches of snowfall per year. With the average high in summers around 89 degrees, having an air conditioning system to lower the temperature in your home is essential. Additionally, since the mercury drops as low as 23 in the winters, it’s highly recommended that you invest in a heat pump to ensure you and your family is comfortable.
